What We Do
The Annisquam Historical Society preserves and protects the collections of documents, photographs, and artifacts in the Deluge 8 Firehouse, deposited there by generations of residents and visitors. Our goals are to catalog, curate, and develop those collections; to rehabilitate the Firehouse as an archivally safe repository for them; and to make them available to researchers and the public year-round. We aim to share Squam's amazing stories with all for generations to come. Please enjoy reading our latest Journal.

The Annisquam Historical Society has been the beneficiary of a collaboration between Boston Public Library and Digital Commonwealth. Many historical documents, plus a few books and pamphlets from the Firehouse were accepted for scanning at the library. Scanned images were then uploaded to Digital Commonwealth, a non-profit collaborative organization, that provides an internet "storefront" for organizations such as ours, to display their wares. There you will find a pen and ink drawing of the schooner I Am Here, and icons for ten topics beginning with Annisquam Bridge. Click on any one of the icons to see the documents that are included under that topic.
